My Content Playbook

My Content Playbook

Hello, and Happy Friday!

Today will conclude my three-part series as we move into 2024. In this post,, I’ll offer up a few ways to expand my content engine here on BrianRWagner.com and my social networks, especially LinkedIn and Twitter/X.

Part 1 - 2023 Year in Review

Part 2 - 2024 Look Ahead

Background

If you read my previous posts, I made it very clear that I want to expand my content creation playbook;  it can be a dynamic engine to share your own thoughts, discover interesting people, and perhaps — at the very top percent — make a living.

In the early days of the Internet, I was creating content daily - but then that slowed down exponentially as I entered into the professional workforce in managing content creation for other organizations. I think it’s time to bolster my own content creation and sharing thoughts in other sectors.

Perhaps, I can even earn a dollar through this work in 2024. Time (and my effort) will tell.

Digital Content

Here is where I wanted to brainstorm and share my ideas of content for this BrianRWagner.com website/blog. I have thrown out a few content options of things that I can dive into, if there’s interest. Please feel free to provide any feedback (good or bad!) in the comments below.

My core topics have always been centered around business, branding, leadership customer experience - and now healthcare in the past few years.

An always-behavior for my me: Keep FOCUS and Have IMPACT

I certainly think I can double down with those topics, but perhaps I should also dive more into hobbies of mine, like sports (golf, football, soccer and business of sports) and content for the likes of “Dad Life.”

Below is a snapshot of what I’m thinking about:

  • My Own Quick Tips, Principles, etc.

  • Aggregation and Lists (With Opinions)

    • Share: Articles, Podcasts, Videos, Case Studies

  • Spotlight Other Great People (Create Connection and a Powerful Network!)

  • Be A Sense-maker

    • I strive to make the complex, simple — and want do this from time to time

  • Book Report/Reviews

  • Make Predictions

  • Dive Deep into a Sub-Niche Categories

  • Professional

    • Leadership

    • Business

    • Consumerism

    • Strategy

    • Customer Experience

  • Healthcare

    • Brand & Consumerism

    • Strategy

    • Patient Experience

  • Organizational Strategy

    • OKRs / Strategic Playbook

    • Change Management

    • Playbooks

    • Team Cohesion

  • Sports:

    • Golf

    • Football

    • Soccer

    • (My Teams):

      • Minnesota Vikings (NFL)

      • USC (NCAA)

      • Michigan (NCAA)

      • Manchester United (EPL)

  • Dad Life

    • Grilling

    • Bourbon

    • Yardwork

    • Family

Diving even deeper into what content I feel is applicable, I ask myself these few questions:

  1. What can I teach someone?

  2. How is this different than what others say?

  3. What tools or lessons can I share in list form?

Going through this helps me map out what I can have an impact in sharing, and could be helpful for you, as well.

Goals

As I eluded to in my previous posts, I aspire to keep a consistent pattern of posting here on my site and social feeds. This is something that used to be a huge part of my life but I’ve been inconsistent for years. I’d like to get back to sharing with others on how I think

To keep me in check, I’d like to have some proof of the following by the end of Q1, while carrying through the entire year::

  • Weekly blog post that shares resources, with my opinions

  • Additional write-ups on focused events

Systems

Beyond my aspiration and goals, I need to develop my daily systems in order to execute on what I want to do.

I am committed myself to spend >60 minutes each day to Read, Think and Write.

I will read books, news articles, case studies and more – anything that helps me keep growing into the person and leader I aspire to be.

I will think on my own to create my opinions on a series of topics and be strategic.

I will write (this website is a byproduct of that) those thoughts down and have the courage to be unique. I’ll also be committed to sharing thoughts.

Thanks for reading along, and being part of this journey.

Enjoy the weekend.
