I have officially left Michigan Athletics. The past 5.5 years have been nothing short of incredible, from a personal and professional level. I have grown immensely at an incredible organization and world-class brand — and met some very smart and genuine people.
A big thanks to Kurt Svoboda, who lured me here from the University of Washington, for the mentorship and constant guidance as I continued growing in this field.
I’ve been fortunate to be part of some big-time football games, incredible March Madness runs (including a Final Four!), survived a plane crash, worked with some incredible student-athletes and even helped launch Nike and Jordan Brand into the U-M community with a 10,000+ person block party.
That doesn’t include the moments we had over the social space, which were countless. We created epic threads with other programs around the country, tested what’s possible with emerging technology, and elevated our one-to-one interactivity with fans.
The Michigan community is greater than I had predicted and the Wolverines will always be part of my fandom.
It has been a dream to represent the Block M and bring those moments to the phones of our fans around the world.
For what’s next...
I will be leaving athletics all together as I have accepted a position with DuPage Medical Group as the Director of Strategic Initiatives and Integrated Design.
I’ll be working on strategy, brand and marketing for an exciting healthcare group.
This will be a new journey for me and I’m ready to dive in. After a lot of counsel with others, I think it’s the best step for me as I look to grow, challenge myself and become a better professional.
Although I won’t be in sports anymore, I won’t be leaving the incredible #smsports community that has supported me over the years. It’s a group that lifts up each other and serves as consistent inspiration.
As always, I’m around to counsel others and be a resource.
Forever, Go Blue.
