Get Tuesday! - July 30, 2024
Hello, my friends.
Welp, I have been experiencing some flooding in my house in the past five days after a burst pipe. š±
Itās not fun.
My family of five is stranded in a hotel. Iām trying my best at working. Weāre trying to entertain three little kids. Weāre dealing with insurance, plumbers, renovations.
And the biggest stress is the unknowns. How long will this take? What out of pocket expenses will we incur? Itās making us uneasy every minute.
All that being said, I donāt have much more brain capacity left. But Iāve got a few things for this week, and then weāll get out of here.
Hope to see you next week. :)
US of A
I donāt know the photographer here, so apologies, but this photo of Team USA sailing down The Seine with LeBron and Coco carrying the flagā¦ epic.
Itās giving āWashington Crossing of the Delawareā vibes. (Wait, did I just say āitās givingā like the kids?)
On leadership
Leadership is not just about guiding a team. It's about becoming a beacon of inspiration for every single member of a team.
I like to imagine a workplace where every team member feels seen, heard, and inspired. Where leadership transcends mere directives and becomes a personal journey of growth and empowerment for each individual. That's the hallmark of an inspirational leader.
An inspirational leader doesn't just lead; they elevate. They recognize the unique strengths and aspirations of each team member, creating a fertile ground for innovation, resilience, and unparalleled teamwork.
But how do we transition from being just a leader to an inspirational one? It starts with empathy, active listening, and a genuine commitment to the personal and professional development of our team members. It's about leading by example, celebrating successes, and turning failures into learning opportunities.
Let's challenge ourselves to be the leader who doesn't just aim to achieve goals but strives to inspire every team member to reach their highest potential.
Physical workouts
Missed a sweat for 5 days straight due to a minor injury and mental state dropped to a 5/10.

Easiest, highest leverage thing to do is workout hard for 20m. I do it not for long term health or physique, but simply for day-to-day mental state. https://t.co/0gjPZr6n3J
This is what Iāve been striving to do for the past few years, getting in a workout 6 days per week.
Even if itās a slower 30-minute bike ride on my Peloton.
And Iām at the point where itās more of a mental need than physical need for me.
Quote I love

Consumer-centric health care
via Optum (full download available)
Consumerism is a top priority for health care leaders. The viability of their business depends on consumers. As with other services, people increasingly want to shop for health care that meets their needs and preferences. They want shorter wait times, convenient locations, online bill pay and virtual care options.
To gather insights about consumerism in health care, Optum surveyed 100 health care executives. They came from provider, health plan, state government, life sciences and employer organizations.
They also interviewed 8 health care leaders across disciplines to more deeply examine how leaders are approaching the challenges and benefits of:
Improving Healthcare Experiences
Taking advantage of technological innovations
Preparing for the overall shift toward consumerism
